Natural remedies for runway-ready hair – 5 easy homemade recipes
As women, our hair is our pride and joy and we go to great lengths to have it look its best. If you still haven’t found the right product or treatment, why not try making it yourself? Here are a few recipes you can try, using a somewhat unexpected ingredient.
You will need juice from 2-3 onions combined with water (1:2). Apply the mix on damp hair, insisting around the roots. Leave it on for 30 minutes.
Onion juice and coconut oil
This recipe promotes hair growth and restores shine to dull and damaged hair. Apply the mix on dry hair, massaging the scalp with circular movements. Keep your hair wrapped in a towel for half an hour.
Onion and honey
Mash up an onion in a blender and add a couple of teaspoons of honey. Apply the mask on dry hair and leave it on for at least an hour. After the time has passed, wash your hair with your regular shampoo and plenty of water.
Onion and yoghurt
Another interesting recipe involves a mashed onion and a tablespoon of yoghurt. Apply the mask from the roots, spreading it all the way to the ends and leave it on for 45 minutes. Wash it out with shampoo and lukewarm water.
Onion and lemon
Lemon, with its acidic qualities and vitamin C content, is used to prevent dandruff, stimulate hair growth and make your hair smooth and shiny. Add a teaspoon of lemon juice to a cup of mashed onion and apply it to your scalp, massaging gently.
Leave it on for 30 minutes and rinse out with plenty of water; you may choose to wash your hair with shampoo and/or apply conditioner.
