Delicious homemade desserts – how to make your own raw-vegan Nutella
Do you sometimes feel like just throwing your diet out the window and climbing in bed with a jar full of Nutella? Don’t be too hard on yourself, everybody loves chocolate; but what if you could have an equally delicious, inexpensive and healthier version and enjoy it to your heart’s content?
Nutella is one of the most popular chocolate-based treats in the entire world and there are few who can resist it. But if you’re on a strict or vegan diet, you can make your own Nutella at home, with just a few ingredients, without preservatives and artificial flavours.
You will need:
– 2 cups raw hazelnuts
– ¼ cup pure cocoa powder
– ¼ cup maple syrup or honey
– 1 pinch of sea salt
– 1 tsp vanilla extract
– ½ cup almond milk
Heat up your oven to 180 degrees. Place the hazelnuts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake them for about 10 minutes. Make sure they don’t burn; you’ll know they’re ready when the hazelnut flavor fills the entire kitchen.
Spread them across a kitchen towel and fold it so that you can rub them comfortably and get the peels off. Put them in a blender and mix for 3-6 minutes until you get a nice buttery consistency.
Add the rest of the ingredients in the blender and mix until smooth. Poor the vegan Nutella paste in a glass jar with a lid and keep it in the fridge.
